Ashcroft RCMP seeking public information in armed robbery investigation
ASHCROFT — RCMP in Ashcroft are asking for the public’s help tracking down suspects in a recent armed robbery.
In a release from BC RCMP, police say they were called to a report of a robbery at the brake check on Highway 97C in Ashcroft around 2:30 a.m Friday (Oct. 30).
A man reported to RCMP that a large truck had almost ran him off the road. When the man stopped at the brake check at the top of the hill on Highway 97C, the suspect vehicle allegedly turned around and came back to where he had stopped. The victim was blinded by a large light bar on the suspect vehicle.
At this point, two unknown men reportedly got out of the truck with a long firearm. The victim was allegedly told at gun point to get out of his vehicle and lie face down on the ground. The suspects then stole several items from the man’s car, including a large duffle bag.
