Thousands lose power in Chase, Shuswap areas

CHASE, B.C. — UPDATE (10:45 a.m.): B.C. Hydro says the power has been restored to the majority of customers.

EARLIER: As snow falls on the southern Interior, thousands are without power east of Kamloops into the Shuswap.

B.C. Hydro lists a series of transmission circuit failures as the cause of outages that began before 9:00 Friday morning (Oct. 23).

A series of outages from Pritchard including Chase and into the North Shuswap and Salmon Arm areas affect more than 12,000 customers.
