Merritt retirement home’s bus stolen and recovered, but suspect still on the loose

MERRITT, B.C. — A bus stolen from a retirement home in Merritt has been recovered, but RCMP are still looking for the person who took it.

According to a social media post from The Florentine, the bus was recovered in North Burnaby.

RCMP say it was stolen early Wednesday morning (Oct. 7) when a man walked into the Florentine’s front entrance, using tools to access the main lobby before finding the keys to the bus.

A surveillance camera captured an image of the thief.
