KAMLOOPS — After Connor Zary in round one, the Kamloops Blazers next player drafted in the 2020 NHL draft was in round four.

The replacement for Henrik Lundqvist?

Well, maybe sometime in the future.

Dylan Garand has been taken in round four by the New York Rangers.

The Rangers were looking to add some goaltending depth after buying out 15-year veteran Henrik Lundqvist last week.

Garand, an 18-year old from Victoria, is the 8th goaltender selected in the 2020 draft.

If and when Garand ends up playing with the Rangers, one of his teammates will be Alexi Lafreniere, who the Rangers made the first overall pick in the draft.
