KAMLOOPS — Charges have been approved against the suspect in a Thursday (Oct. 1) shooting on the Kamloops North Shore.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay of Kamloops RCMP says David Jeffrey Tremblay, 34, is facing counts of failing to comply with conditions and discharging a firearm.

On Thursday at about 5:15 p.m., officers were called to the area of Willow Street and Renfrew Lane, where someone had driven up to a home and fired several shots at it. The home was occupied at the time but no one was hurt.

Tremblay was arrested in Dallas Friday morning.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and those involved are part of the local drug trade.

Pillay says RCMP are releasing a photo of Tremblay in order to get more information about his movements Thursday and Friday.

“This was a broad daylight, brazen drive by shooting in a residential neighbourhood. Thankfully nobody was killed but we have seen incidents exactly like this result in innocent people being killed,” Pillay is quoted in the release.

Anyone with information on Tremblay’s whereabouts in the past few days is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
