SD73 asks for 15,000 masks to be returned due to defect
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops-Thompson School District is calling on students to return thousands of face masks due to a defect.
According to a news release posted on the district’s website, 15,000 reusable grey masks were distributed to staff and students at the beginning of the year, along with a similar number of black masks.
The district wants students to return the grey masks because when they are washed, the nose wire can penetrate through the cotton.
Health and Safety Manager Melissa McGarry says the district hopes to have new-style masks ready for distribution next week.
