Interior Health issues a drug alert for Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Health officials have discovered a dangerous drug that could be on city streets. As a result, Interior Health has issued a drug alert for Kamloops.

A light yellow or beige granular substance, which is being sold as down, was tested at ASK Wellness. It was found to contain etizolam and fentanyl.

Interior Health says this substance carries a high risk of overdose that may not respond to naloxone.

People are encouraged to get their drugs checked and avoid using alone.

The drug alert will be in effect until Oct. 2.
