KAMLOOPS — RCMP are investigating an armed robbery last night in Sahali.

Staff Sergeant Mat Van Laer says just before 11:00 PM Monday night, they were called to a pizza restaurant at 875 West Columbia Street. Staff reported they were robbed at gunpoint. Staff Van Laer says a lone suspect entered the business, approached an employee at the till and pointed what appeared to be a firearm. He demanded money from the till. The cashier complied. The suspect grabbed money from the cashier and took off in a northerly direction on a small bike. Van Laer says fortunately no one was hurt. The suspect male was described as Caucasian, approximately 5’4″. He was wearing a dark jacked with 3 lines from the shoulder to the wrists, jeans and a square black bag with a single strap (satchel style).

This all happened just before four businesses were broken into in the Southgate Industrial Park between 11:15 and 11:50 PM. ( See adjacent story). But Van Laer says there’s no indication at this point the cases were connected.
