Prospect of trick-or-treating too scary for Aberdeen Mall

KAMLOOPS — Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says she won’t put the kibosh on Halloween — but Aberdeen Mall will.

According to a news release, the mall will not hold its annual trick-or-treating event this year.

The decision was made in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the mall’s difficulty in following health and safety protocols while allowing hundreds of parents and children inside.

The news release notes the annual event typically sees 3,500 or more people come through the mall’s doors.
