CASTLEGAR, B.C. — Interior Health (IH) is issuing a self-monitoring advisory to anyone who attended a mass camping event in the West Kootenays last weekend.

According to a news release, a group of about 150 people went camping on September 12 and 13 at Bombi Summit, between Castlegar and Salmo.

IH says anyone who was part of that group should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. It notes there have been no known cases of COVID-19 associated with the event, but the health authority is issuing the advisory as a precaution.

The health authority urges people to stay in small groups and not to attend gatherings of more than 50 people.
