Woman dies in overnight crash near Sun Peaks

SUN PEAKS, B.C. — A woman is dead after a rollover crash near Sun Peaks late Monday night (Sept. 14).

BC RCMP Traffic Services spokesman Cpl. Mike Halskov confirms the incident took place along Heffley-Louis Creek Road at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Halskov says Kamloops Rural RCMP members attended, finding the female driver dead at the scene.

An infant was inside the vehicle and was not injured. Halskov says the infant is now in the care of family.

Central Interior Traffic Services members will continue the investigation. Halskov says impairment and lack of seatbelt use have not been ruled out as contributing factors into the woman’s death.
