Kamloops grief counsellor hosting virtual support group on World Suicide Prevention Day
KAMLOOPS — It’s World Suicide Prevention Day, bringing to light the prevalence of suicide and the resources available to those struggling with their mental health.
Every year, 4,000 Canadians die by suicide and a local advocate is trying to provide a space for Kamloops residents to express their grief of a lost loved one.
Jolene Lindsey is a grief counselor who lost her father to suicide at 17 years old. She says this is an important day to bring awareness to the issue and reduce the stigma around suicide.
