Detours recommended as resurfacing work begins along Columbia Street
KAMLOOPS — One of the city’s busiest intersections will be slowed considerably this week as resurfacing work begins at Third Avenue and Columbia Street.
Streets and Environmental Services Manager Glen Farrow says the road needed to be repaved, as the area is littered with asphalt issues and pedestrian tripping hazards.
Crews are working around the drop-off and pick-up times for nearby St. Ann’s Academy and making sure people can still go to and from the hospital. However it’s still recommended that drivers going through the downtown section take a detour.
