Vehicle incident knocks out power to hundreds in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — UPDATED 10:30 a.m : Power has been restored for most of the more than 3,000 people impacted by an outage this morning in Kamloops.

BC Hydro says there are still 451 customers without power in North Kamloops, south of the Halston Bridge between Schubert Drive and 8th Street.

The outage was caused by a motor vehicle incident near York Avenue and 8th Street.

Power is estimated to be back on by 4:30 p.m today, and updates from BC Hydro can be found here.

 

PREVIOUS: The power is out for more than 3,000 BC Hydro customers in Kamloops this morning, due to a vehicle incident.

According to BC Hydro mapping, the outage spreads from North Kamloops into Brocklehurst, and the Tranquille area.

3,341 customers are without power at this time, and it has been off since 7:41 a.m.

Repair crews are expected to be on scene by 9 a.m, and so far there is no estimated time for when the power will be restored. Updates from BC Hydro can be found here.
