Kamloops residents asked to provide input ahead of budget discussion
KAMLOOPS — The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about some new challenges in the planning process for the city’s 2021 budget.
On Tuesday (Aug. 25), City of Kamloops staff will be asking council whether to cut services in order to avoid a tax increase, or keep service levels the same.
Councillor Mike O’Reilly says he wants Kamloops residents to have their say before that conversation begins.
“There is no perfect solution for this, given that we’ve never been through a global pandemic before,” he said. “I’m looking for input from the public as to what they want to see for their community next year, what they want to see for service levels in the community.”
