RCMP investigate after young child found unattended near Falkland

FALKLAND, B.C. — RCMP are looking into an instance of an unattended child being found by the public near Falkland.

This happened durnig the noon hour Wednesday (Aug. 19) on Chase Falkland Road.

Social media posts on the Falkland Facebook group suggest the girl was around two years old and was found naked and sunburned near Joyce Lake.

Cpl. Tania Finn of Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP says officers canvassed the area and found the child’s parent.

A B.C. Ambulance crew was called out to assess the child and the parent for medical issues.
