Motorcyclist dead after Cariboo accident

WILLIAMS LAKE — One person is dead after an accident in the Cariboo Saturday (August 15).

According to a news release from North District RCMP, Corporal Madonna Saunderson says RCMP were called to the scene of a crash on Chimney Lake Road at Felker Lake Drive just after 3:30 PM Saturday.

Emergency services personnel were on scene when police arrived. A 57-year old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saunderson says an exact cause hasn’t been determined, but the motorcyclist may have been trying to avoid wildlife. Any witnesses are asked to call Williams Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
