SALMON ARM — RCMP in Salmon Arm are searching for suspects after a recent stabbing in the Blind Bay area.

According to a release, the Salmon Arm RCMP General Investigation Section is leading the investigation into an assault with a weapon, after a stabbing victim showed up at a home in Blind Bay looking for help.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey with the Southeast District says around 10:38 p.m Sunday (Aug. 16), emergency responders and officers arrived at the home along Forest Drive in Blind Bay. They found a man bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds. RCMP say it’s believed the assault took place at a nearby car wash.

The investigation is still underway but O’Donaghey says investigators believe as many as three suspects were involved.

“Although it is early on in the investigation, RCMP has reason to believe the incident was targeted in nature. In an effort to advance its investigation, the RCMP is urging any and all witnesses to come forward.”

Police say the victim was a 30-year-old man from the Shuswap area. He was taken to hospital by paramedics but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or has information about it is asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044, or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
