UPDATE: Small wildfire near Spences Bridge being held

KAMLOOPS — A small fire southeast of Spences Bridge is now classified as being held by the BC Wildfire Service.
The Skuhost Creek fire was first reported yesterday (Aug. 6) and was considered out of control.
Fire Information Officer Madison Smith says crews were on site today and the fire is no longer expected to grow thanks to suppression efforts.
“The fire was recently tracked at 4.2 hectares in size,” she said. “It was recently just 2.1, there was no growth, we just got a more accurate track of the fire since it is a very spread out fire.”
