KAMLOOPS – Jason Michael Holm is facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Saturday’s (Aug. 1) stabbing death on Clarke Street in Kamloops.

Police allege the Kamloops man stabbed 39-year-old Paul Samuel Whitten Jr. Police found Whitten in his home with stab wounds. He was taken by ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital, where he died later.

RCMP say the killing is not connected to organized crime or the drug trade. Holm and Whitten lived next door to each other and knew each other.

Police have not released any information regarding a motive. However, a photo of the 37-year-old suspect is being released. And police are hoping the public can help police determine where Holm was in the hours leading up to the killing.

He may have been walking in the downtown core anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay. “If you saw Mr. HOLM, had contact with him or know anything else about this investigation, please contribute to the safety of our community by contacting our investigators.”

Holm is 6’3 and approximately 250 pounds. He is Caucasian with a very noticeable tattoo on his face, in the shape of teardrops. He also has a neck tattoo of a red “Cobra” emblem.
