Public asked to help solve four-year old homicide investigation

100 MILE HOUSE – RCMP are appealing for the public’s help in solving the four-year-old death of Gary Edwards in Deka Lake, 44 kilometres east of 100 Mile House.

The body of Edwards was discovered July 29, 2016 on a property in the 7600 Block of Julsrud Rd. The RCMP’s North District Major Crime Unit was called in to assist in the investigation.

“We would really like to find out who and why anyone would want our brother, uncle, friend and a loving father dead,” said RCMP North District Major Crime Sgt. Matt MacLeod.

The family is also appealing to the public for any clues to the mystery. “He was a man of little means but a man with a big heart who loved his family dearly. We ask that anyone with information to call the police,” said the Edwards family in a statement released by police.

“No matter how small or seemingly insignificant the information may seem, it could be the missing piece that solves this crime,” said Sgt MacLeod.
