BARRIERE – Barriere’s Block Watch program is promoting the so-called ‘9pm Routine’ to prevent property crime in the area.

The 9pm Routine involves removing keys and valuables from your vehicle, locking the doors to your home and car, closing garage doors, turning on outside lights and putting bicycles, tools and other valuables away.

The goal of the program is to establish a habit that will remove the ability for criminals looking to make an easy heist.

RCMP say the most commonly stolen vehicles, are ones that have keys left in the ignition.
