KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of southern B.C., triggered by an impending heat wave.

According to the forecaster, the heat will set in this weekend thanks to a strong ridge of high pressure.

By Monday, it’s expected daytime high temperatures across the region will soar into the mid to high 30s, continuing into Tuesday and Wednesday.

In addition, overnight lows are expected to touch the mid-teens, providing little relief from the heat.
