FALKLAND, B.C. — Organizers of the Falkland Stampede say the venerable event has been cancelled for the first time in more than a century.

Restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic have organizers convinced the stampede would not work in 2020.

The event normally takes place in May, but organizers announced in April it would be postponed to late August.

Now, however, organizers posted on social media that they will be “unable to produce the high quality show” they would expect.
