Fire bans coming into force next Wednesday for Kamloops Fire Centre

KAMLOOPS — B.C. Wildfire Service officials are tightening fire bans in the Kamloops Fire Centre as the heat of summer sets in.

According to a bulletin issued Friday morning (July 24), prohibitions on Category 2 and Category 3 fires take effect noon next Wednesday (July 29).

Those bans cover fires typically used for backyard burning or slash pile burning. Campfires are still allowed.

Fireworks, sky lanterns and binary exploding targets are also covered in the prohibitions taking effect next week.
