KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents looking to the northwest of the city during the noon hour Tuesday (July 21) will notice some smoke, but shouldn’t be alarmed.

Fire Information Officer Madison Smith says crews will be conducting controlled trials to test out the moisture codes.

“Our crews here are doing burn trials today in the Lac Du Bois grasslands this afternoon in conjunction with B.C. Parks,” Smith told CFJC Today. “These burns will occur between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. and the smoke will be highly visible for a short period of time from the Kamloops area.”
