Thirteen new COVID-19 cases in B.C. Tuesday, including three in Interior

VICTORIA — The province is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (July 14), including three new cases in Interior Health.

There are now a total of 3,128 cases that have been recorded in B.C., distributed as follows:

• 1,015 (Vancouver Coastal)
• 1,649 (Fraser Health)
• 135 (Island Health)
• 212 (Interior Health)
• 65 (Northern Health)
• 52 (Primary residences outside of Canada)

There were no new deaths to report Tuesday, leaving the province’s death toll at 189.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 209 active cases in B.C., including 14 people who are in hospital and five people in critical or intensive care.

Of the total recorded cases, 2,730 people are now considered fully recovered, or 87 per cent of the total.

Dr. Henry reported no new outbreaks in either the community or healthcare systems.

Late Monday, Interior Health confirmed there are a total of 13 people associated with a recent community exposure event in Kelowna. Today, Dr. Henry said that number is now 17. IH officials continue to perform contact tracing in an effort to potentially identify more cases.
