KAMLOOPS — Motorists along Tranquille Road should be prepared to a slower-than-normal commute Monday morning as work on an underground main moves into its second phase.

The City says the intersection of Tranquille Road and Desmond Street will be completely closed all week as the sewer main is installed. Traffic along Tranquille will be detoured along Greenfield Avenue. Access to the Brock Shopping Centre will be from Desmond Street. Bus stops will be moved temporarily however pedestrian access will be maintained.

Once that work is complete, crews will continue down Tranquille Road from Desmond Street to Holt Street.

The City is asking commuters to give themselves some extra time and consider finding alternate routes to ease the traffic congestion in the area.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-September.
