Flooding closes Trans Canada Highway between Sicamous and Revelstoke

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — UPDATE- 8:00 am- Friday July 3-

The Trans Canada Highway remains closed this morning ( Friday) in two spots near Revelstoke. One closure is between the Woods Bridge and Summit Lake Bridge, about 15 kilometres west of Revelstoke. Drive B.C. says there’s a moderate chance of getting one lane open by noon. Right now, there is no detour in place. Next update at noon.

The highway is also closed between Revelstoke and Golden because of flooding. There is no detour here either and no estimated time of reopening.

EARLIER: The Trans Canada Highway has been closed between Revelstoke and Sicamous due to flooding.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, the closure is between the Woods Bridge and Summit Lake Bridge, about 15 kilometres west of Revelstoke.

The ministry says assessment is in progress, but it’s not known when the route may be able to reopen.
