UPDATE: Ten people pulled from Adams River after raft capsizes

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — UPDATE: Whitewater rafters who were in the area at the time have told CFJC Today that ten people were rescued.

The rafters say they helped ensure those in the river were safe before first responders arrived.

EARLIER: Eight people were rescued from the chilly Adams River after a raft overturned Monday afternoon (June 22).

According to B.C. Emergency Health Services (EHS), emergency responders were called to a spot between Adams Lake and Shuswap Lake just before 2:00 p.m. for the report of a capsized raft.
