Thompson-Nicola Regional District residents invited to sign up for new emergency alert system

KAMLOOPS — Thompson-Nicola Regional District residents have a new way to keep up with emergency alerts in the area.
On Thursday, the TNRD Board of Directors officially launched a new emergency alert system by way of a smartphone app.
According to a news release, alerts will be sent out through the app in addition to previously-utilized avenues such as social media, phone, email and broadcast media outlets.
Those who don’t use smartphone apps can still sign up online and have alerts reach them via text, email or phonecall.
