Medical emergency interrupts Kamloops council meeting
KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Kamloops Mayor Ken Christian issued this statement Tuesday evening:
“Today in Council we experienced a medical emergency with a member of our staff. They were administered first aid and transferred by ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital in stable condition. We will not be making further announcements or comments, and thank the public for their concerns but we respect the privacy of our employees.”
EARLIER: Kamloops council’s regular meeting Tuesday afternoon (June 16) was interrupted by a medical emergency.
Chief Administrative Officer David Trawin was speaking to council when a commotion could be heard on the streaming feed. An ambulance was soon called to City Hall to tend to an unconscious male.
