KAMLOOPS — A former Kamloops-Thompson School District counsellor has been disciplined for sending inappropriate text messages to parents.

A decision published by the B.C. Commissioner for Teacher Regulation detailed the actions and disciplinary proceedings against Ladd Maloski.

According to the decision, Maloski was working as a district counsellor during the 2018-19 school year. At that time, he repeatedly texted parents “suggestive and inappropriate” messages in response to inquiries about student schedules.

In September, 2018, the district told him the messages were inappropriate and unprofessional, and told him future communication with parents should take place via email.
