Black Lives Matter support continues in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents have organized a way to continue support of the Black Lives Matter movement this weekend.

There are two BLM-inspired events that will be held at Riverside Park today (June 13), and tomorrow (June 14).

The rally will honour people of colour in the local community by showcasing art, and performances, along with a moment of silence to remember those who have lost their lives in police brutality incidents.

In a Facebook post, organizers note that the rally is meant to be a celebration of life and appreciation of strength.

The event starts at 2 p.m today from Riverside park, and attendees are asked to bring a face mask, wash their hands, and keep a safe distance apart.
