Sun Peaks Transfer Station and Recycling Depot closed due to landslide

SUN PEAKS — The Thompson Nicola Regional District says the transfer station and recycling depot in the Sun Peaks area will be closed until further notice, due to a recent landslide.
In a post on Facebook today (May 30), the TNRD notes that the nearest alternative facility is the Heffley Creek Eco-Depot, at 7381 Sullivan Valley Road.
There’s no details around how much damage was caused by the slide, however an image posted by the district shows considerable shifting on one portion of the site.
The Heffley Creek Eco-Depot is open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m to 4 p.m.
