Five arrested, weapons seized after RCMP storm Merritt home Wednesday
MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP stormed a Merritt home Wednesday (May 27), responding to the report of a pair of serious assaults.
According to a news release from Cpl. Derrick Francis, Merritt RCMP received multiple tips that local couple was responsible for two recent assaults, including one with a gun.
Francis says the Merritt detachment decided to call the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team (ERT) “based on the nature of the information” and on the criminal history of the male suspect.
Wednesday evening, the ERT entered a home on Bann Street, arresting five people. Francis says charges against three people are being considered.
