River Forecast Centre issues flood watch for Salmon Arm area
VICTORIA — The B.C. River Forecast Centre (RFC) has issued a flood watch for the Salmon Ariver near Salmon Arm. The provincial agency made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.
At the same time, the RFC maintained a flood watch the Bonaparte River near Cache Creek and maintained high streamflow advisories for the North Thompson River and its tributarties, the Nicola River and tributaries in the North Okanagan.
Rainfall in the past few days has caused certain rivers to experience rapid rises.
Meantime, a building high pressure system is expected to produce temperatures in the 30s for late in the week.
