MERRITT – Don’t be surprised to see a number of B.C. Wildfire Service air tankers in the skies above Kamloops and Merritt today (May 20).
Training is underway for B.C. Wildfire Service air tanker staff, crew members, new recruit firefighters, and dispatchers.
The annual training is being conducted in the Coutlee Plateau area outside of Merritt.
Air tankers will be making drops on a mock fire. The Wildfire Service stresses there will not be any fires lit for the training.
