Teen recovering in hospital after nearly drowning in North Thompson
KAMLOOPS – A 15-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after collapsing in the North Thompson river Friday evening.
RCMP say the girl was rushed to Royal Inland Hospital shortly after 8:00 pm Friday (May 8th) evening. Witnesses said the girl walked out into the river and collapsed without warning. Friends pulled her from the water and immediately began first-aid. The incident occurred in the Heffley Creek area.
The teen was listed in critical condition when she arrived in hospital, but her condition improved over the weekend.
