Officials in Cache Creek lift state of emergency

May 5, 2020 | 4:13 PM

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Village of Cache Creek has lifted a state of emergency put in place two weeks ago due to rising water.

Evacuations followed close behind when the waterway Cache Creek began rising quickly.

A few days later, Cache Creek began receding but the Bonaparte River started to come up.

Today, Mayor Santo Talarico says the situation “no longer requires prompt coordination of action or special regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety or welfare of people or to limit damage to property.”
