Windsor Plywood Foundation chips in $75k for TRU carpentry program
KAMLOOPS — Windsor Plywood is helping Thompson Rivers University inch closer to its $50 million fundraising goal.
In a news release this morning, TRU announced the Windsor Plywood Foundation has donated $75,000 to the school’s carpentry program. It will be used to buy a state-of-the-art helical blade planer, among other pieces of modern equipment.
The announcement comes after Bryan and Karie Ghering, owners of the Kamloops Windsor Plywood location, advocated for the donation. Karie Ghering is an alumnus from the TRU School of Business and Economics.
TRU’s Limitless fundraising campaign has a goal of raising $50 million to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary this year.
