Suspected thief crashes pickup, hospitalized and charged

LYTTON – A man suspected of stealing a pickup from the Boston Bar area, is facing a series of charges after crashing the truck along Highway 1 near Lytton.
Mounties in Boston Bar received a stolen vehicle report before 8:00 am Monday morning. Officers spotted the vehicle speeding east along Highway One near Lytton. Moments later police came upon the truck after it had crashed. The vehicle was damaged badly and emergency crews were needed to pull the driver from the wreckage. He was taken by air ambulance to hospital.
When investigating the wreck, police discovered some items which they believe had been stolen.
The suspect is 27-year-old Justin Bjorklund of Prince George. He has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of identity documents and two counts of breach of his Probation Order. He was charged after being released from hospital.
