Second Interior Health resident dies of COVID-19; new B.C. positive cases largely linked to poultry plant outbreaks
VICTORIA — A second resident of Interior Health has died due to COVID-19.
Officials with Interior Health said the man, who was in his 70’s, died April 27th. He had been admitted to hospital in early April. Interior Health would not release the location of the hospital or the home town of the man.
In her daily briefing Tuesday (Apr. 28), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported two more deaths due to the virus, bringing the provincial death toll to 105.
Henry noted there have been 55 more positive tests for COVID-19 as of Tuesday, with many of them attributed to outbreaks among staff at a pair of poultry plants in the Lower Mainland.
