MERRITT, B.C. — An infant boy was killed in a crash east of Merritt Saturday.

According to a news release from E-Division Traffic Services Media Relations Officer Cpl. Mike Halskov, the crash happened at about 11:00 a.m., off the Okanagan Connector just west of Loon Lake Road.

Halskov says an eastbound SUV carrying a family of three from the Lower Mainland had left the highway and rolled.

Though the young boy was secured in an appropriate child seat/restraint, he was ejected from the vehicle.

The parents were both injured in the crash.

Halskov says there is no evidence to suggest any criminal act contributed to the crash, and weather and road conditions were good at the time.

Anyone with further information on the crash is asked to call Merritt RCMP (250) 378-4262.
