Crash knocks out power to thousands in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – A single-vehicle crash knocked out power to part of the north shore Friday evening.

The crash occurred near the intersection of 9th street and Tranquille road shortly after 6:00 pm. In the collision, a power pole was knocked down.

BC Hydro said the crash cut electricity to nearly 3,500 customers. Hydro crews were quickly on the scene and expected to have all electricity restored by 10:30 pm.

It’s not clear if any of the vehicle occupants were injured.
