KAMLOOPS — Fresh off his term as president of the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM), a Kamloops councillor is turning his attention to the federal level.
At Wednesday’s (Apr. 15) meeting, Kamloops council endorsed Arjun Singh to stand for election to the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).
“Councillor Singh obviously brings the experience that he has from here in the City of Kamloops, but also, as the former president of the UBCM, has gained liaisons and contacts throughout the FCM organization,” said Mayor Ken Christian in putting forward Singh’s endorsement.
Christian noted he believes the FCM will play a key role in the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
