VIDEO: Here’s what it looks like when a COVID-19 patient is intubated

CLEARWATER, B.C. — “I really, really do not want to be doing this to you or to anyone you love.”

Stark words from Dr. John Soles, who practices at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater.

Soles and his colleagues are practicing intubation in preparation for patients suffering severe symptoms of COVID-19.

Intubation is not a delicate procedure, and in a video produced for social media, Soles says while medical professionals are “preparing for what could happen,” he’d prefer to do as few of these procedures as possible.
