KAMLOOPS — COVID-19 has affected countless businesses throughout our city, with many closing their doors or vastly changing their operations. However, one local group is encouraging local consumers to seek out those local businesses that remain open.

The Farm2Chefs Collaborative started as a way to connect local farmers with restaurants to help highlight local produce. In late March, the group launched its “Support Local Challenge” to help encourage people to choose small businesses that remain open during the pandemic.

“We’ve got a contest going on right now where if you buy something, or visit a local restaurant, get takeout, or whatever it is, just shows us your receipts and you’re automatically entered into a draw to get a $50 gift certificate for the restaurant of your choice that’s on the list of our partners in the industry,” Summers explains.
