KFR responds to gas leak at Sahali Mall

KAMLOOPS — Emergency crews were called to a gas leak at Sahali Mall this morning (Apr. 3).

According to Kamloops Fire Rescue Capt. Wade Lindoff, a contractor was working inside the old Safeway when a gas line was struck.

Fire crews attended and shut the gas supply off to the rest of the building.

“We had to evacuate the building and set up a perimeter,” Lindoff said. “We ventilated and Fortis is inside the building right now just that the levels are safe.” People will be able to re-enter the building once it is deemed safe.
