UPDATE: Major Kamloops power outage comes to an end

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: As of mid-afternoon Tuesday, power had been restored.

EARLIER: The power is out for a large portion of east Kamloops.

According to BC Hydro’s website, the outage covers a large area of the city, including much of Valleyview, Dallas and Barnhartvale.

The utility says the outage was first reported at 8:43 a.m., and though a crew is on site, the cause is still listed as “under investigation”.
